Men,
Do you
realize what an encouragement you are?
I have
watched you closely over the last few weeks. I have
watched you reach out more. I have watched you look
beyond your own needs. I have watched you change your
plans so you could sit with a man who needed someone to
listen to him. I have watched you hug a man who needed a
boost or console a man who needed to weep. I have
noticed you seeking out the lonely and welcoming the
stranger. I have seen you sacrifice, seen you care, and
seen you pray. You are making a difference and it is
noticeable.
The most
recent example was last Sunday during the men’s prayer
time. Several men prayed about hurts or challenges in
their life. When we finished, it would have been easy
for you to get up and go, but what did you men do? You
chose to love your hurting brother. Beside each man who
had raised a burden, I noticed another man had decided
to remain seated next to their hurting brother. Some
were asking more questions, others offering to get
together or call during the week, but all were in some
way caring. You gave these wounded men morsels of hope
to continue on. You were ambassadors with a message of
love from the King. You were life savers.
Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted.
(Proverbs 11:11)
Keep it
up men. You are an encouragement and you are blessing
men’s lives including my own.
