A Caring Community where Kids Grow in their Knowledge and love for Jesus

Our Vision
Our heart is to see each child desire a relationship with Jesus, experience His work in their lives, and learn how the uniqueness of their gifts can be utilized to serve Christ, the Church, and our world. We are deeply committed to helping parents disciple their children by encouraging and equipping them in the process of growing our families in the knowledge of Jesus.

We believe that parents have the primary responsibility for the spiritual nurture of their children (Deut. 4:9, 6:7, 11:19; Psalm 78:1-8; Eph. 6:1-4). Cedar Mill Kids strives to establish a structure and curriculum that allows the church to walk alongside parents to help equip them in their God-given role. We believe that Spiritual formation of a child occurs best by being immersed in a nurturing environment where the church community and parents support one another.

We believe that children can handle deep truths at a young age (Matt. 19:13-14, 18:1-9, Luke 10:21, Prov. 22:6). These truths are presented in an age-appropriate manner and are reinforced and expanded as children grow. We have chosen curriculum that aims to inspire children with a wonder of who Christ is and how all Scripture points to His redemptive work on the cross.

Your children matter deeply to us because they matter deeply to God! All Cedar Mill Kids’ volunteers go through a comprehensive application process including a background check, two reference checks, an interview, and training. All classrooms have a two adult rule and age-appropriate ratios to ensure quality care. We strive to maintain the healthiest and safest environment possible for every child.

This informal playgroup for moms and their children meets Mondays. This is a not a 'drop-off' for your children. Parents must accompany their own children the entire time.

The Indoor Playground does not meet on holidays, during spring break, or Christmas break.

Contact the church office for more information.

On Sunday mornings, we have programs available for all children infant through fifth grade. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment as each child experiences God’s love for them.

Infants and Toddlers
Infants are cuddled, rocked, bottle-fed and engaged through play by trained volunteers who love babies. The environment is quiet, loving, and calm for our youngest children. There are age-appropriate toys and books for stimulation, as well as swings and cribs so that your child can rest if needed. Toddlers are allowed space to run and play with a wide range of age-appropriate toys. They also hear a Bible story and enjoy a snack every week. Our desire is for the toddlers to begin to hear some basic truths about the character of God, as well as enjoy lots of time of play and interaction with our loving volunteers.

2’s and 3’s
One of our desires for the two and three year olds is for them to begin to experience what it is like to be part of a church community. This occurs as they make friends, develop relationships with their teachers and helpers, and learn who God is and how much He loves them. Each child will learn new songs, hear a Bible story, and create a craft every week.

Preschool and Kindergarten
All preschool and kindergarteners will hear about God’s “big story” and how they are invited to be a part of it. They will receive a compelling picture of who Jesus is and how much He loves them. Additionally, they will enjoy playing, singing, and creating a craft to take home.

1st-5th grade
The elementary kids walk through the entirety of Scripture every three years. They learn about God’s “big story” and how He invites them to be a part of it. They also receive a compelling picture of who Jesus is and how much He loves them and the world He created. There is a time of large group teaching where they hear a Bible story, as well as a small group discussion time where they learn how to apply the lesson and have fun building relationships with their peers and teachers.

Additional play time
We recognize that children socialize and build relationships through play. All children and families are invited to enjoy activities in the gym in between the 9:00 and 11:00 services. This also provides a time for parents to visit while supervising their children as they play and interact.
